Honoring the Life and Service of Trustee Robert “Bob” Fallot

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Sandy Township Trustee Robert “Bob” Fallot. Bob was more than a public servant—he was a man of faith, family, and community. For decades, he dedicated his life to serving others, whether through his military service, his work as a trustee, his time with Scouts and 4-H, or simply sharing wisdom with his grandsons in the garage.

His steady leadership, kind spirit, and devotion to both his family and community leave behind a legacy that will be felt for years to come. Our thoughts and prayers are with Betty, their children, grandchildren, and the entire Fallot family during this difficult time.

Bob’s life was one of service, integrity, and love. He will be greatly missed.

Sandy Township Board of Trustees to Hire Part Time Employee

The Sandy Township Board of Trustees are accepting resumes for a Part Time Road Worker.  The following is the job description

General Summary

This is a skilled maintenance position.  The employee performs a variety of tasks related to the Township infrastructure and buildings involving the operation of Township vehicles, equipment and manual labor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a CDL Class A or B license.  Annual DOT physical required.
  2. Must be in satisfactory Physical condition.
  3. Must be able to bend, stoop, carry, lift and climb.
  4. Operates machinery, including driving trucks, operating other equipment as required.
  5. Maintains and repairs equipment and facilities, including washing and cleaning of equipment and the cleanup of garage and Twp. property.
  6. The ability to fully maintain Township Vehicles.  This maintenance shall include servicing all equipment, keeping inspection requirements current, keeping the engine fully functional and repairing body damage. 
  7. Maintains infrastructure
  8. Performs road maintenance including: paving and patching roads, crack sealing, snow and ice removal, mowing/brush clearing, removal of trees and weed eating at guard rails and signs or any other areas not able to be mowed.  Please see Twp. Mowing Policy
  9. Installs and maintains inlets and pipes
  10. Installs road signs
  11. Maintains and repairs cemetery grounds
  12. Performs wintertime roadway maintenance (snow removal and ice control)
  13. Assists in traffic control as needed.
  14. Assists as needed, in Township meetings
  15. Performs light carpentry work as necessary
  16. Complies with and promotes safety regulations, policies, and procedures of the Township, County, State and Federal Governments
  17. Wears Township provided safety/visibility apparel while at work
  18. Utilizes all Township provided safety equipment as required, personal or otherwise
  19. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Road Superintendent, Board of Trustees.
  20. This job is an hourly paid position.

Job Specifications:  Education /Employment  Any combination of the education and experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below.  An example of acceptable qualifications for this position is 3-5 years’ experience with construction maintenance and repair work

License/Certification Requirements   Possession of valid OH Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or Class B. Random drug and alcohol testing is mandatory to keep a current CDL.

Knowledge:  Knowledge of equipment operating procedures. Knowledge of general maintenance and repair practices of equipment.  Knowledge of street maintenance and repair practices and procedures.
