The Sandy Township Board of Trustees are accepting resumes for a Part Time Road Worker. The following is the job description
General Summary
This is a skilled maintenance position. The employee performs a variety of tasks related to the Township infrastructure and buildings involving the operation of Township vehicles, equipment and manual labor.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a CDL Class A or B license. Annual DOT physical required.
- Must be in satisfactory Physical condition.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, carry, lift and climb.
- Operates machinery, including driving trucks, operating other equipment as required.
- Maintains and repairs equipment and facilities, including washing and cleaning of equipment and the cleanup of garage and Twp. property.
- The ability to fully maintain Township Vehicles. This maintenance shall include servicing all equipment, keeping inspection requirements current, keeping the engine fully functional and repairing body damage.
- Maintains infrastructure
- Performs road maintenance including: paving and patching roads, crack sealing, snow and ice removal, mowing/brush clearing, removal of trees and weed eating at guard rails and signs or any other areas not able to be mowed. Please see Twp. Mowing Policy
- Installs and maintains inlets and pipes
- Installs road signs
- Maintains and repairs cemetery grounds
- Performs wintertime roadway maintenance (snow removal and ice control)
- Assists in traffic control as needed.
- Assists as needed, in Township meetings
- Performs light carpentry work as necessary
- Complies with and promotes safety regulations, policies, and procedures of the Township, County, State and Federal Governments
- Wears Township provided safety/visibility apparel while at work
- Utilizes all Township provided safety equipment as required, personal or otherwise
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Road Superintendent, Board of Trustees.
- This job is an hourly paid position.
Job Specifications: Education /Employment Any combination of the education and experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below. An example of acceptable qualifications for this position is 3-5 years’ experience with construction maintenance and repair work
License/Certification Requirements Possession of valid OH Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or Class B. Random drug and alcohol testing is mandatory to keep a current CDL.
Knowledge: Knowledge of equipment operating procedures. Knowledge of general maintenance and repair practices of equipment. Knowledge of street maintenance and repair practices and procedures.
